  1. Previously I used ap2renderer manually installed under GentooPlayer. Now I am pleased to see that APlayer and its renderer are already included in the last version (6.80) of GentooPlayer: https://gentooplayers.com/
  2. Good news: today I upgraded to Windows 11 and now also 24/96 can be converted on the fly to DSD without hiccups using APrenderer. And even better: the maximum is improved from DSD128 for Win10 to DSD256 for Win11. Also the sound has improved, so I can certainly recommend Win11.
  3. Thanks Igor. I just played a 23 min 16/44 track, with conversion by AP renderer to DSD in multi-thread mode with CPU always under 50%. First DSD256 with full memory playback and all other settings on the General tab at the defaults. It broke off after 18 minutes. Then DSD256 with standard playback: there are glitches, the music skips every second or so, even while the CPU activity stays below 50%. Going down to DSD128 with standard playback all is well! Perhaps the breaking off was related to full memory playback. The reason that I use JRiver as controller is that it enables me to do convolution in JRiver and then let AP renderer convert to DSD. Doing both with APlayer does not work as DSD conversion deactivates DSP/VST. Is it difficult for APlayer to do DSD conversion after DSP/VST?
  4. When I play a 16/44 track with JRiver and send it to APlayer renderer which converts it to DSD, all goes well. However, when I do this with a higher resolution track (24/88 and upwards), the music stops after about one or two seconds. Any idea what I could be doing wrong? P S Actually, the 16/44 track also stops, but only after 7 minutes or so. I am using full memory (standard or direct do not work at all).
  5. @IgorA When using the Dimas web interface I do not see a 'stop' or 'restart' button for APlayer. Would this be possible? I tried to go back to the original web interface by removing "/d" but it keeps showing the Dimas interface. In the meantime: what would be the proper restart command for APlayer in Gentoo OpenRC?
  6. That would surprise me as almost 15GB of RAM is available and the track in 352 format is approx. 160MB. But I tried re-generating the correction files in Acourate, and now it works! Not sure what the problem was. Thanks again Igor for this wonderful player!
  7. I think I found the problem. I am resampling everything to 352,800 or 384,000 kHz and then apply convolution. These are the correction files: -rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 524402 Mar 25 16:47 '[044]Cor1S.wav' -rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 524402 Mar 25 16:47 '[048]Cor1S.wav' -rwxr-xr -x 1 root root 524402 Mar 25 16:47 '[088]Cor1S.wav' -rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 524402 Mar 25 16:47 '[096]Cor1S.wav' -rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 524402 Mar 25 16:47 '[176]Cor1S.wav' -rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 524402 Mar 25 16:47 '[192]Cor1S.wav' -rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 1048690 Mar 27 18:04 '[352]Cor1S.wav' -rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 1048690 Mar 27 18:04 '[384]Cor1S.wav' These are 32 bit files that I have generated with Acourate. I notice that the 352 and 384 files are double the size of the others. Maybe APlayer does not like that? I also generated 64 bit correction files with Acourate for JRiver and also there the 352 and 384 files are double the size. However, JRiver does not complain.
  8. When trying to play with full memory, I often get no sound and after a while this error message: 'unable to set hw parameters: operation not permitted' Any idea what this can be?
  9. As with DoP I keep getting clicks and cutoffs, I just swapped the interlinks from my DAC to the amp and apply "Swap channels" only when playing PCM, where it works well.
  10. Thanks, good to know. However in DoP mode I get a loud click before every track and the beginning of the track is missing. Is there a way to avoid this?
  11. @IgorA When I select "Swap channels (stereo)" in DSP, there is a hiss in one channel. The hiss is gone when I unselect it. I only tried with original DSD material so far (no conversion). Any idea what this can be?
